"M" is for the many things we do....

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there in blogland!

A friend sent the following to me and I wanted to share it. I couldn't verify exactly who wrote it though...

Before I was a Mom,
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom,
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom,
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on, pooped on, chewed on, peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

Another friend sent me this link about me being Mother of the Year. Yeah, like THAT would happen hahahaha. Check it out anyway, it's cute.

I'd send it to all the Moms out there but I don't need the competition. :) Well actually I'm just too darn tired! Got home from the temple a short bit ago. Kids did baptisms and I did an endowment for Elizabeth Pathkiller a great great grandmother (not sure how many "greats") Kind of cool, yesterday was her birthday...217th to be exact. It is such a long drive!!! Goodnight everyone!

It's great that you did Elizabeth's work.

The next mystery question is: So where did the VICKERS come from that the the boys had as a middle name??

Hey! When did you get a blog??? You are too kind, by the way, with your compliments on my blog! I feel so special! And by the way, who is that beautiful girl Miles is with??? Was that for homecoming? He's growing up, how exciting! And p.s. sorry about deleting the last comment, I didn't know I was signed in with my e-mail ID and not my blogger ID :)
